Comprehensive lifestyle-related disease management through diet and exercise is important for prevention of disease and severe conditions. We provided nutritional advice to older patients with lifestyle-related diseases at a clinic in Nayoro City. Patients who received nutritional advice were obese, with an average body mass index (BMI) of 25 kg/m2 or higher, and had high systolic blood pressure and salt intake. Nutritional advice was given slowly at the patient's pace regarding specific nutritional diet, problems, and points for improvement. The advice helped patients to change their eating habits, resulting in weight loss, a significant decrease in BMI, a significant increase in dietary fiber intake, and slight decreases in energy and salt intake. Our findings suggest that nutritional advice had a positive effect on lifestyle-related
