A total of 200 first year students, consisting of 54 Nursing, 40 Nutrition, 52 Social Welfare, and 54 Early Childhood Education students, participated in the study, which was conducted from the end of April through the beginning of May, 2008. Using the 51 pairs of adjective opposites developed by Inoue et al (1985) for measuring subjects' views of children, participants responded to each adjective pair on a 7-point semantic differential rating scale. Each item was scaled so that a higher score represented a more positive image. The Kruskal-Wallace H-test(p<.05) was used to analyze the variance between the 4 groups of students, and then the Mann-Whitney U-test (p<.0125) was applied to the 22 items found to be significantly different. Results showed that Nursing students scored significantly higher Nutrition students on 5 items.
