Results from technical examinations conducted in 2003 and 2005 were compared to evaluate simulation methods for intramuscular injection technique. In the preparation and performance of intramuscular injection, a higher degree of achievement was observed in 2005 than in 2003.However,many students felt that aspirating drug solution in ampules and removing the air syringes was difficult, suggesting that student nervousness might have affected performance.The results indicate the necessity of arranging the environment for self-leaning by confirming the 5 Rs in drug labels,and of progress records for achievements.
